The live final for the ‘Sound Clash’ music event was an amazing success. Young people from across Halton came together at ‘The Studio’, Queens Hall, Lacey Street, to perform and compete for some top prizes.Melodious acoustic duos, stunning solo instrumentals, awesomely tight rock bands, modern choirs and staggering musical theatre recitals all combined to make judging and impossible task. But after some deliberation the winners were announced:1st Place: Tyler Mensah & Mike Pickston (The Heath School)
2nd Place: Rock School (Wade Deacon & Fairfield Federation)
3rd Place: Amber Watson-Brennan (The Grange School)

The overall winners of the event received two full days studio time recording and mixing their tracks with MakoRecords Sean O’Hare. They will also take part in a photo shoot which will be used to design album artwork for their own CD.But the prizes didn’t end there!

Both second and third place runners up receive a full day each in the studio and all of the acts who competed in the live final benefit from two hours studio time.

The ‘Sound Clash’ event has aimed to make industry standard studio time available to as many groups of Halton students as possible by providing acts with recording equipment, training, studio time and the experience of performing in front of a live audience.Congratulations to all of the acts who took part in the Sound Clash project and to the teachers and parents that made the whole event possible.
