Halton Borough Council organised a special celebration ceremony where six local schools performed a variety of musical, dance and drama performances at The Brindley Arts Centre in front of a sell out audience. Afterwards, the performers and audience members flooded the streets to party with the Olympic entertainers and to cheer on their local torch bares as they paraded the Olympic flame through Runcorn and on into Widnes.
The ceremony was a huge success and despite the wet weather the atmosphere outside was electric. If you missed out please enjoy these highlights.
